Barefoot Resorts, Ltd., is a Cayman limited company managed by the
developers, Stuart Wood and Jeffrey Cotter. Between them they have
over 54 years of success developing upscale beachfront communities
in the Naples, Florida area and North Carolina. Barefoot Resorts
will assume the role of an on-going project manager, mediating
relations between the condominium owners, the resort operator and
the investors. A second Cayman limited company managed by the
developers, Anchor Point Resort, Ltd., will represent the interests
of the project investors, and the Borrower under the senior loan.
G. Stuart Wood
Stuart Wood has 29 years of experience developing multi-family
housing, single-family residential housing, luxury estate homes,
commercial centers, hotels, resorts and golf courses, and possesses
an ability to visualize a concept and make it a reality. As a
principal in a number of development communities in the Naples and
Bonita Springs, Florida area, as well as on Grand Cayman, Mr. Wood’s
expertise centers on architectural/design services, construction
management and project budgets. Currently, he manages in excess of
$145 million of diversified real estate assets. His role in the
Mandarin Oriental Grand Cayman project will be to assemble a team of
qualified and experienced service providers to execute the
construction, planning, design, and implementation of the project
development plan. As of now, he has retained the lead architect on
the project, Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates of
Atlanta, Georgia, and the Project Interior Designer, Duncan &
Miller, of Dallas, Texas. Stuart Wood is a graduate of Old Dominion
University in Norfolk, Virginia.
Jeffrey J. Cotter
Jeff Cotter has over 25 years combined experience in real estate,
hotel/resort and timeshare development, including corporate and
financial operations, marketing and new concept development
projects. Working with his partner, Stuart Wood for the past 20
years, their combined real estate projects total over $300 million.
Mr. Cotter’s expertise centers on marketing, operations, and
financial management. For the project, Jeff will be overseeing the
legal documentation and project financing. Mr. Cotter was educated
in Florida State University’s Division of Hotel & Restaurant
Management, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration and majoring in Hotel & Restaurant Management and
Accounting.

Barefoot Resorts, Ltd., has hired investment banker, Bazarian
International Financial Associates, LLC, to help in structuring the
project financing. Bazarian International (BI) is an international
investment banking firm located in Washington, D.C. providing
clients with extensive financial services at every stage of their
investment. Founded in January of 2004 by Carl J. Bazarian, a
seasoned veteran in international finance and project advisory.
Bazarian International’s mission is to provide clients with the
highest-quality service, guidance, and efficiency in order to
produce the most profitable project possible. Bazarian
International’s financial engineering of projects is a highly
creative and specialized process of working with clients to
structure, create, and present projects in a way that enhances their
profitability and viability. At the client’s discretion, BI remains
directly involved in most stages of project development through the
project’s capitalization and early operational stages. Bazarian
assisted in the financing of the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman.
Prior to founding Bazarian International, Carl Bazarian spent 20
years at East-West Financial Services in Washington, providing
investment banking services to over 40 projects throughout the
Caribbean, as well as in countries such as Argentina, Costa Rica,
Armenia, Georgia, Greece, and the Ukraine. Projects in the Caribbean
where he has completed investment banking assignments include; the
Marriott and Americana Hotels in Aruba; the Marriott Los Suenos,
Costa Rica; Golden Anchor Yacht Club, Bonaire; and the Renaissance
Resort Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Current resort projects include the
Westin Macao Beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and the
Ritz-Carlton Isle of West Caicos, Turks & Caicos.
